Letošnji prejemnik nagrade Festivala performansa je The Miha Artnak. Nagrado, ki jo podeljujejo za posebne dosežke na področju performansa v Sloveniji, dobi za performans Prečkanje. Lavreatu bo nagrado na nocojšnji prireditvi ob sklepu festivala na Novi pošti izročil nosilec predmeta Performans na AGRFT Janez Janša.

This year's recipient of the Performance Festival Award is The Miha Artnak. The award, which is given for special achievements in the field of performance in Slovenia, goes to the performance Crossing. At tonight's event at the conclusion of the festival, the laureate will be awarded by Janez Janša, the Slovenian artist.

»Umetnik The Miha Artnak je 18. maja 2019 izvedel performans Prečkanje, med katerim je prečkal cesto zunaj urejenega prehoda za pešce. S tem delom je sintetiziral večplastne razsežnosti performansa: zastavil je svoje telo in svoj status državljana, prespraševal dostopnost javnega prostora, družbene konvencije in regulacije ter s prekrškom sprožil vprašanje o odnosu umetnosti do družbenih norm. Z na videz minimalno in obrobno, neškodljivo gesto je razprl tudi večno vprašanje o mejah umetniškega ustvarjanja in svobode ter še kako aktualno vprašanje o umetniški imuniteti.«

"On May 18, 2019, the artist The Miha Artnak performed the performance Crossing, during which he crossed the road outside the arranged pedestrian crossing. With this work, he synthesized the multifaceted dimensions of performance: he pledged his body and his status as a citizen, questioned the accessibility of public space, social conventions and regulation, and raised the question of the relationship of art to social norms. With a seemingly minimal and marginal, harmless gesture, he also opened the eternal question of the limits of artistic creation and freedom, as well as the current issue of artistic immunity."
