We come in peace 我们平安而来 نأتي بسلام
"Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another." — Carl Sagan

What is a Planetary civilization?
In 1964, Soviet astronomer Nikolai Kardashev defined three levels of civilizations, based on the order of magnitude of power available to them.
Kardashev scale
The scale has three designated categories:
Planetary civilization
also called a Type I can use and store all of the energy which reaches its planet from its parent star.
Stellar civilization
also called a Type II can harness the total energy of its planet's parent star.
Galactic civilization
also called a Type III civilization can control energy on the scale of its entire host galaxy.
Humans are currently at Type 0 civilization.
"These civilizations can effectively control the entire resources of their planet; they can predict weather patterns and earthquakes very accurately, and even control them using artificially induced greenhouse effects or space-based lasers. A planetary civilization could conceivably halt an ice-age." — Dr. Michio Kaku
Planetary flags
We're facing challenges like climate change, wars, pollution, and economic inequality that we must address collectively to ensure our survival.
We should unify our cultural differences, establish common ground, and envision a clear path into our future.
We are creating a visual language that supports the idea of becoming a Planetary civilization.
The symbol for Earth is designed to be abstract and versatile, free from cultural biases. It's meant to evolve with us. By using this symbol, we commit to values such as compassion, love, and truth, striving towards a unified global community.
"Orbiting Earth in the spaceship, I saw how beautiful our planet is. People, let us preserve and increase this beauty, not destroy it!" —Yuri Gagarin
The design is based on a simple grid system, where the space allocated for the Sun varies according to the planet's proximity.
Additionally, the number of moons varies for each planet, but is incorporated into a consistent pattern across the design.
The presence of numerous flags could potentially lead to division once again. It would be more logical for us to evolve into a Stellar civilization united under one solar system, rather than as separate planets.
Flag of Sun — Stellar civilization flag
Symbols and flags are created to unite us and promote peace on Earth. The Solar flag would serve as a universal symbol, reminding us that even if we live on other planets, we are all one united community.
The views expressed under these flags represent personal opinions. Although challenges like trolling, hate speech, misinformation, and manipulation are prevalent, they do not shake our faith in humanity or the symbol itself. It's important for us to unite and work towards a better future.
History
Some individuals and organizations have promoted designs for a flag representing the planet Earth, though none have been officially recognized as such by any governmental body. Widely recognized flags associated with Earth include the flag of the United Nations.
While working on a design project a question sparked our imagination. What would our home planet's flag look like?
Srđan and I didn't do any research, we just separately drew what we thought was the logical visual representation. We immediately noticed that we had an identical solution. Only this drove us into research.
We found out there were few attempts already put to practice. The logic of our predecessors was the same. Earth as a planet in our solar system. We even found almost exact design being made in 1970 by James W. Cadle (USA).
This proved we were on a right path. Having the same ideas and opinions about the visual representation of our homeland in a different time and place brought us closer also culturally. And from then on, we designed it into a system.
Design system
Planetary civilization flag was designed by The Miha Artnak & Srđan Prodanović at Studio Ljudje in January, 2013. Miha continued with the research and designed it into a system (2017).
Where can I get them?
This of course is an open-source project, that's why we put the pdf files online. Share our open-source project and attend global discourses about our future. Thanks human!
